Do they even know?
I recently read on a packet of salt and vinegar crisps that it may contain traces of milk. Fortunately, I am not lactose intolerant or anything like that, but it did make me wonder. How can they not know whether or not it contains milk? Is there some fellow walking around the factory randomly dropping milk into some of the packets and sniggering under his breath saying "That'll teach those lactose intolerant bastards"
Are they even sure the crisps were made from potatoes? Surely they have some sort of quality control - someone to ensure that the correct ingredients go into the correct products?
Even worse, I found a jar of peanut butter which "may contain traces of nuts". I would hope that it contains more than just a trace.
Heaven knows what comes next - a bottle of mineral water that has a label that says "may contain traces of ecoli". I don't think that would go down very well!
